Local villages offer excellent amenities and a good choice of restaurants and inns. Countryside walks are on your doorstep and you are ideally located for exploring the wide variety of Yorkshire Dales villages and attractions. The beautiful spa town of Harrogate Knaresborough Skipton and Ripon are all within easy reach. Historic York or sophisticated Leeds are within a one hour drive.

"Peace, Quiet, Perfection! My Husband and I stayed for four nights in the Grondal at Springwood Lodges during November. The Lodge is perfect, with a well equipped modern kitchen, spacious lounge with a log fire, beautiful views of Old Springwood and beyond, TV, DVD Player with a good DVD Library, King Size bedroom, again with great views, good sized modern and spotlessly clean en-suite bathroom and a Sauna, just big enough for two. Outside there was a small table and chairs, and steps leading down to the wonderful hot tub, which was a joy to spend time in both day and night, a place where you can truly forget about all your cares. The Grondal is the first lodge you come to on the site, and is perfectly private. We were not overlooked at all, and after walking around the wood and the site we were very happy the level of privacy we had compared to other lodges. Other than on arrival, we never saw another person on the site (we knew others were there as cars were parked outside the lodges). We were so content in the lodge and with the surrounding walks that we did not want to leave at all, we did venture out to Harrogate (where a visit to Betty’s is a must), however after stocking up on supplies we quickly returned to the sanctuary of the lodge. If you are looking for somewhere special in this area, then I would highly recommend the Grondal at Springwood Lodges. 19/11/2011 00:00:00"
