"Penvale Lodges are in a beautiful setting. Alongside the trout pools, enjoy breathtaking views of the Welsh countryside. Sheep and their lambs can be seen frolicking in the grounds; ducks and their young families congregating on the water and water's edge. Herons flying over the trout pools - all provide alternative entertainment, in stark contrast to city dwellers on a get away from it all break. The location of the lodges is idyllic - just a couple of miles out of Llangollen, on the Horseshoe Pass road. The restaurant at the Britannia public house provides excellent value for money, and is just a short walk from the lodges. 17/05/2011 05:09:44"

"The setting at Penvale was great in a beautiful valley with plenty of wild life on the door step, it was great to have a hot tub and it was used well during our stay. The lodge site was relatively quiet while we where there but if all the places were taken I still feel we would have not noticed as it was not overcrowded with log cabins, which was a benefit. "I would not hesitate in recommending Penvale Lake, Langollen to anyone wishing a quiet, relaxing break away from it all. It is suitable for all ages. I could not fault the accommodation; you have everything you need. The lodges, although next to each other have plenty of space in between. The views are just wonderful and the setting for the lodges is lovely, with fishing pools and ducks & sheep, along with their young, wander about outside your lodge. And there are 2 pubs within walking distance. We had a meal at The Britannia, which was lovely and very reasonable. 02/06/2011 05:06:53"
