"Luce Bay is a lovely little holiday park that is very peaceful and clean. The staff are helpful, yet unobtrusive, and the whole air of the park is one of relaxation. There is a launderette and on-site shop which stocks the basics, so if you are going for a week or more, I would take some food with you. There is an old coaching inn just outside the park which is good for a meal, but always check first as they don't do hot food everyday. In fact most restaurants in the surrounding area are closed on a Monday. Stranraer is about a 20 minute drive from the park and is worth a visit, for it has a lovely laid-back, unhurried feel to the town that is wonderful to enjoy. There is also a great Chinese restaurant in the town called 'The Hong Kong City' that is well worth a visit, for the food is terrific. Port William is 9 miles from the park and is worth a visit too. It is lovely to have a walk around this gorgeous little town, and you can get a well-cooked meal at 'The Clansman' for a reasonable price. I enjoyed my stay very much as the lodge I inhabited was clean and comfortable with everything I could need or want. "We stayed as a family at this park with 3 young children and would definitely recommend it for a peaceful family holiday. The scenery was amazing, the staff were helpful and the lodge was beautiful. It made a good base for exploring the local area with the village of Glen Luce nearby if you need something that the reasonably priced site shop didn't stock.
