"We have today returned from our weekend away at Ashbourne Heights and it really is the nicest park we have ever used. Lodge 10 was one of a single row of lodges over looking a grass verge that our 2 children were able to run free on at any time. With a 4 year old and 18 month old, the play area was invaluable and really quiet which was a massive bonus at this time of year. The lodge itself surpassed all expectations with plenty of space and every comfort of home - most importantly CBeebies and a DVD player for Peppa Pig! Another massive bonus was a gate attached to the veranda to enclose any wandering toddlers and restore peace of mind. The park is conveniently located for local attractions and the staff were lovely. We will definitely visit again. There were also added bonuses we weren't expecting like the bath in the larger bathroom, (as well as the en suite with shower) and the dishwasher. "We had a lovely 4 day break at Ashbourne Heights and would have extended our stay but they were fully booked! Our lodge was modern, clean and well equipped - we couldn't fault anything. The staff were friendly and helpful, with nothing too much trouble for them. A peaceful and friendly park, the most noise we heard was from the sound of the lambs and their mums in a nearby field! The Coaches & Horses in nearby Fenny Bentley is highly recommended - a 2 minute drive or 15 minutes walk away - food and ale both very good indeed and well priced. "We had a lovely weekend break at Ashbourne Heights. The park is very peaceful and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The lodge was beautiful, there were 2 bedrooms (one ensuite), and a separate bathroom with a bath. The kitchen was very well equipped and had a dishwasher, washing machine and full size fridge freezer. Lots of space and spotlessly clean, we couldn't fault anything. There is lots to do in the area - we visited Matlock Bath and watched the illuminations in Derwent park, also we enjoyed the Heights of Abraham. We went to Crich Tramway Village which was a great day out. Also Carsington Water was lovely for a walk and had a nice coffee shop. Bakewell is also a lovely place to visit, and we had a really tasty Sunday lunch at the Knockerdown Inn too. Also recommended is the chinese in Ashbourne, The Dragon's Nest, gorgeous take away!
