Sick of the cold English weather, get away to warmer temperatures this year
According to a well known supermarket travel insurance survey, we Brits are fed up with the freezing weather of this winter and plan to get away to warmer climates this year. It is predicted that 50% more of us will book a holiday in the first two months of this year as apposed to the same period last year.
Due to the cold weather this winter the holiday you are more likely to book will be to a warmer place. Devon and Cornwall are hot spots for England but for those looking to go further afield France, Spain and Italy are proving to be favourites this year. With money being a little short this year camping has become the new package holiday! Whether it is using your own equipment or that of a tour operator it is definitley the way to go this year.
There are lots of places to go in France, Brittany and Normandy for those who don’t want to travel too far or may be try the Loire Valley for amazing chateaux. If the sea is for you then the Vendee region is a good place to visit and only 4 hours or so from Cherbourg.
If you want temperatures in the 80’s and fantastic beaches then the south of France or Costa Brava and Costa Dorada in Spain are the places for you. For stunning sceneryand warm weather look to Italy with Florence or Rome offering culture into the bargain. The serene beauty of the Italian Lakes is second to none and you can expect 9 hours of sunshine and temperatures into the mid 80’s.
